@PoXPuLar
Both are very good rackets. I use Armortec 900 and I;ve tested Z Slash too. Have you read my reviews on my blog? Watch video titles for blog details. If Bg is string then BG80 is most popular followed by BG65Ti.
PLease tell you badminton friends about my blog. If you’re quick you can enter the competition to win a Nano 9900 racket.

Hello , Im a badminton player and am looking on getting a ArmoTec 900 or a Z slash which should i get? And what type of Yonex Bg’s should i get?

@22echab22e
If I was you, I’d check out Armortec 900 Technique as it sounds ideal for your style. Saying that, any of the top end Yonex rackets can make a difference although you may find Z Slash a little frustrating on timing.
If you visit my blog I have reviewed all Yonex top end rackets so you’ll get a good overall feel for them. There’s plenty of other coaching articles on there too. Look at the titles in the video for details.
You can also win a Nano 9900 if you’re quick..

@TheBadmintonCoach Hi Paul. Hmm I am currently 14 years old and playing 5-6 hours a day. I play whenever I can outsiude at the Gym. I Need your help. I currently have a pc-20 black knight with Nanogy 95 string at 24 lbs tension. I find it drags too much. And this summer I am buying a new racket. I am a technical player. Placement/control. But I smash to kill the rally. Now here is the question. What Yonex racquet should be fitted to me. Any budget I have enough money.
thanks if you answer

@lolitswill The racket had a standard grip on and was strung to 23lbs tension. It strings tighter because of the smaller frame. No, string colour does not affect how you play. Have you checked out my blog yet? (See video description for link). You can win a nanospeed 9900 racket if you are quick to enter.

p.s Please tell you badminton playing friends !

Hey Paul, many thanks for all your badminton reviews and wonderful information. I’m just wondering, your grip for the arc z slash, is an overgrip right? And to what tension of string would you go for? and does the colour of the string affect gameplay?
Thanks again Paul, keep up the great reviews!

@MrDinms3
Z Slash is around £150 in UK. Not sure what the equivalent is where you are.

@tryder78
THe way to look at this is that it gets you started. Once you get the hnag of the game and like it there are tons of better rackets. You won’t go wrong with a Yonex racket.

ok thanks ive ordered the b500 but hope to change it again soon because i have a feeling the racket may be quite heavy
March 31st, 2010 at 2:20 pm
how much that racket?
March 31st, 2010 at 2:39 pm
@tryder78
Tryder, out of the two rackets I’d go for Yonexb500
Hope you play well with this racket and continue playing this great sport for many years.

what rackets would you recomened for a beginner. im 14 and looking for a cheap racket i like the look of the yonex b500 and the browning nanoblade tdi. which would you say is better ?
March 31st, 2010 at 2:53 pm
No it’s not too heavy – a lot lighter than Armortec 700.
Kenichi Tago just got to All England Singles final playing with a Z Slash. He had tremendous power and control. So it worked well for him.

Mr Paul.. Is it to much heavy to play with Yonex Arc Saber Z Slash ?? i heard the cons of this racket is the weight is very heavy.. correct me if im wrong..
March 31st, 2010 at 3:51 pm
As Paul was saying the racket can vary greatly between players. I play for the Scottish Badminton Team and i’m using a racket that retails at £40, (Ashaway Ti130) and in all honesty it is one of the best rackets i have ever used so don’t be taking in by the price.

Hi Richard
The best racket is the one you feel you play best with.
I’m testing 3 different rackets at the moment to decide which I want to play with. But my choice is not yours. You really need to test.
PLease do not be fooled into thinking that the best player plays with the best racket. Players make their own choices based on their sponsor. Out of the range, they all choose different rackets because it suits them.
Hope you’ve had time to visit my blog
To your success

Thanks for the video Paul; was just wondering if you can suggest the best racqet (only Yonex) for singles and doubles(I play both), it doesnt neccesarrily have to be between the arcz or nano9k.
I’ve been using the Armotec 900P for about two years now and its served me well, just wanted to try something new.
Thanks

Why would you need to string a racket at 35lbs?
Racket tensions are getting beyond a joke. There is a point where the string will not provide any repulsion properties and therefore unless you have perfect technique, then you are having to put more effort into every shot.
Apacs make good rackets, as do other manufacturers.

Thanks for your comment.
There is a danger of breakage with any of these rackets. Whilst the frames are strong, they are not built to withstand impact with another racket. It’s more a matter of good furtune rather than anything else that a racket stays intact after a collision.
Paul
PS Thanks for signing up to be blog. My 7 secrets DVD is almost finished, just a little more videoing to go and some editing.

sox agian cause thez slash has such a narrow frame …does it have a biiger chance of shattering or breaking???
March 31st, 2010 at 7:35 pm
I wanted to get a new racket and i got the new carlton vapour trail tour then i noticed 2 weeks later the z slash came out only for £30 extra

well, 3U9900 might be a better choice if you play doubles. I have both 3UAZ and 2U9900, both at 24/26lbs with NBG95 string. Personally I think AZ is a little better, maybe because it’s shaft is not as stiff as the 2U9900. My smash really improves with AZ.
